My favorite design is the game Persona 5. The main GUI consists of 2-3 color: black, white and red. Although some people may find the GUI a bit messy, i like the GUI for how unique it looks from other games. The red is associate with violence and passion (Cameron, 2010). In the game the protagonist was oppressed by powerful individuals in society, the protagonist and friends has the power to infiltrate people's mind. In the game the mind is depicted as a palace and the player has to control the gang to steal the "treasure" which is the materialization of the person's desire. As the player progress through the game, balancing between spending time in real world and inside the palace is important and player will be constantly be reminded and the countdown to which the player have to complete the palace is on the top right of the screen. I especially like the level design of the game. The game starts in the middle of the story inside one of the palace, where the protagonist was captured and interrogated this is where the player can decide a name for the protagonist and also obtain the knowledge that there is a traitor amongst his friends. The player would be left wondering who this traitor is as story progress from the beginning. Each palace the player go through has a different theme related to the person's desire.
My least favorite design is Iphone 7's EarPod. The first iteration of EarPods uses a 3.5mm headphone jack which is compatible with most computers, android device and apple device which is very convenient. In the second iteration the 3.5mm headphone jack was replace by a Lighting connector, this connector can only fit into the charging slot of iphone, which means while the earphone is connected the iphone will not be able to be recharge; The connector also does not fit into any other device other than an iphone.
