Haiku: On a withered branch A crow is perched An autumn evening
kare eda ni karasu no tomarikeri aki no kure (Matsuo, 2004, p.317)
Last week I did a poster on black death so for this week's challenge even though the theme I choose is death again, I did not want to depict black death again ( I did not want to look at black death picture again); So I began searching other topic, I think of where the Haiku came from, Japan and think of major death event there. I came up with 2 events one is the Sengoku era where warlord fight over each other, the other is the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of World War 2.
At first I tried the Sengoku era but I did not have many ideas, so I move over to bombing of Hiroshima as I am more familiar with this event so I did some pen drawing as I thought black and white would fit an event where many died.
I created a 4 by 3 format using miro. I edited the image so they would fit in the format.
